Working on Regeneration

Vision

We hold space inside every person, group and community at all scales to live in the way Life flows through us to create a mosaic of place-sourced, diverse, and regenerative bioregions linked across scales.

Mission

The RCN is a global learning and action network to connect bioregions around the world fostering regeneration at all aspects of humanity on Earth (social, cultural, spiritual, economic, governance and environmentally).

Methodology

Following Life’s principles, complexity and chaos theories and social innovation we create a community to enhance flows of information and resources between people, bioregions, networks and sectors who want to contribute to regenerate the planet and ourselves in interdependence, mutualistic distribution and radical collaboration.

CROSS-POLLINATION AND LEARNING IN REGENERATION WITH PRACTICAL ACTIONS IN BIOREGIONS
Every experience is a learning and regeneration opportunity as a new experience for humankind. As bioregions, we connect to learn from each other. We have extensive experience in education at all levels, including internships with Ubiquity University that bring students from their Masters in Regenerative Action (MRA) program to our bioregions; the Certificate in Regenerative Development at UCI, Costa Rica; and new programs as biomimicry to regenerate entrepreneurship, communities, governance and so on We have Eduard Muller, Melina Angel, Luis Martín del Campo, Isabel Carlisle, Thais Corral and Mauricio Nuñez.
TRAINING ON REGENERATIVE FINANCES AND ECONOMY
As many investors are realising, current approaches to philanthropy and impact investment are causing more harm than good. We have experience applying paradigm-shifting frameworks, including John Fullerton’s Regenerative Economy Framework and Kate Raworth’s Doughnut Economics, as the basis for financial decisions.

One program already available in Spanish since 2019 is Regenera Academy in Mexico and Latin America and was designed by SVX Mexico and co-created with many stakeholders including members of the RCN like Kala Education and Cascading Sustainability. This program brings together concepts and real life cases from Impact Investing, Regenerative Economy, climate finance, Impact entrepreneurship, systems thinking, blended finance, and gender lens investing. It is the first ever course in Spanish of this kind and beginning October of 2021 the third edition will catalyse deep learning, networking and investment development. We have Laura Ortiz, John Fullerton, Luis Martín del Campo and Carolina Fernandez in this effort.
TRAINING AND DESIGN OF BIOREGIONAL REGENERATION BASED ON LIFE’S PRINCIPLES AND SYSTEMS THINKING
Regeneration is an ancient practice. It is what nature does when needed. Seeing the big picture, understanding the relationships and following Life’s Principles in our actions, we assure the integration of regeneration in our projects and bioregions. We have consulting and use of digital technology for local participatory evaluation.

Bioregions and regenerative projects need to be able to evaluate their progress to trace their path and to show results. We have developed digital tools, methodologies and visualizations to evaluate regeneration from the bottom up, and to link with global metrics for climate and the sustainable development goals.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
For urban and rural regeneration platform reconnecting people to their environment is a major challenge. Regeneration requires coordination of all our actions, and we support that with a digital platform to monitor of biodiversity and other changes on the ground; so that people anywhere on the planet can support regeneration at a watershed level in the places where they are right now.
TRAINING AND CONSULTING ON REGENERATIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Businesses are a huge part of the way we understand and act in the world. Humanity needs to regenerate business, management and administration in order to fit into life’s way of working. Collaboration and diversity is a big piece of the thriving strategy of Nature to do business, so we bring business to a high level to integrate more regenerative action into the world. The University for International Cooperation in Costa Rica developed the first program on Regenerative Entrepreneurship in 2018. This program evolved to Ubiquity University’s program of Master in Regenerative Action and is available online since 2021. Cascading Sustainability in USA in partnership with Kala Education in Mexico co-designed and launched the Regenerative Reboot project, the first process that builds collaborative, regenerative business ecosystems that works at bioregional scales to weave multi-stakeholder networks and create conditions for communities to thrive.
TRAINING AND CONSULTING IN COLLABORATIVE AND SELF-ORGANIZING GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP
It is evident that we need to integrate regeneration in the way we work together. To understand our relationships and start a regeneration process, as humans, we need to bring this process to our daily life. Leadership is a role in communities, is taking action. We offer an amazing training with Eduard Muller, Hugo Araujo, Carolina Hernandez.
